Supper - break it down
You’ve spent time making one of your favorite meals. Something you used to eat before the kids were born. After all that time cooking it, you are pretty sure no one’s gonna touch it.
You’ve only got 2 options:
- cook them grill cheese again
- or suffer through a supper where everyone’s whining and complaining and won’t eat a thing (then you’ll cave and make grill cheese anyway) 😒
There is another way to start exposing your kids to new foods. Do these 2 simple things
1. Confidently serve small portions of each item separately. We want them asking for more.
2. Make sure there is 1 familiar food. It’s most likely gonna be the noodles. So make sure you lovingly choose a noodle they know and like. 😉
Then there is one last thing you gotta do. Forget convincing the kids to eat. Forget teaching them about how nutritious carrots are and how important variety is. All you have left to do is enjoy the heck outta your meal. I’m talking about slurping up noodles, extra sauce, talking about what you were doing the first time you ate it (before they were born). Show them, don’t tell them, what it’s like to enjoy supper with your family.
