Making Food Fun Again
Hi! I'm Christie. I'm a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years experience. When I'm not working at a busy children's hospital in my area I'm also a mom in an active, outdoorsy family. We love being outside year round! Heading to the mountains to bike, hike and ski are some of our favourite ways to have fun. We just need to make it home in time for dinner and to take the dog for his walk. We definitely aren't perfect but we look forward to family dinners as often as we can.
When your meals have become a battle because you have a picky eater in your family, know that you are not alone. If you feel like you need to make multiple meals to ensure everyone eats something and gets off to their activities, you are not the only one. First, let's get your confidence back about how and what to serve at meals. We can begin strategies to help your child to develop a natural curiosity about food and discover a love for trying new food.
My work is informed by Ellyn Satter's Division of Responsibility, Dr. Kay Toomey's S.O.S (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding and Responsive Feeding Therapy. What this means is your child will develop a positive relationship with food at their own pace as I guide them along the way to new food discoveries.
